I'm posting these guidelines for the same reason I post anything on the site. As a general reference and to cut down on confusion. Also to cut down on the long boring setup time. First off I'd like to define what I... ( I said "I" as in how I personally feel, how you may feel may differ :) What I think a guild raid is as apposed to a guild event. For all purposes the terms "guild event" and "guild raid" are interchangeable. Meaning the guidelines below apply for both. I think any organization of the guild to fight is an event. A raid is defined as a guild event with a specific purpose. As an example a raid would be going into CC to get items for the casters shawl quest, or to fight in an area that we could not just take a group ( ie planes). Events are setup to get up ready for raids. So we get to know each others playing style and get us working together as a unit, ect. With that said here are the guild lines... 1) If you need a port to the raid be in game AND at a druid portal at least 30 mins before the raid time. 2) When you come to a raid be prepared to stay during the entire raid. If you know you can't stay the entire time have your own travel arrangements made. We will not allow our druids to port you in the middle of a raid. We will not escort you to the zone. ( If we have a Tling Wiz on the raid this won't be "as" much of a problem ) Do not expect anyone to be able to port you the next day from a dangerous or out of the way location if you decided to just camp. If we are doing a big raid (ie dragon/boss mobs or a zone where we'll be going in "deep" somewhere) and you know you can't stay for an entire raid DON'T Come. It is rude and inconsiderate to your fellow players for you to show up, we get everything setup, get part way to where we want to go and you have to camp. 3) Raid time is the time everyone is excepted to be at the pre determined location. The raid leader will be making groups at the raid time. So be there before the raid time posted. Once we get the raid going we will not break someone off to come get you from the gathering place or anywhere. If you know your going to be late know where the raid will be and how to get there on your own. 4) During raids LISTEN. I said LISTEN. We do not want to have to repeat things over and over. Don't send tells to the Raid leader about anything not raid related, They will be busy enough. If you listen you shouldn't have to talk to the RL at all. If you have a suggestion save it for later and we'll be glad to listen. All raids regardless of our level and experience are learning experiences. 4a) What channels we use for communication will be determined at raid time. This all depends on where we are raiding. Main Channel will be for raid leaders, group leaders, and spell stickage. If you are not in the above, DO NOT USE THE MAIN CHAT CHANNEL. If we have to use guild chat and your not on the raid please do not use guildchat for chatting, price checks, asking how we're doing, ect. Hopefully VI will get the raid channels setup someday so we don't have to ever use gchat for raids. 5) No casting, chatter or running around during any events. This includes during setup. Setup is boring and it sucks so the less distractions the faster we can get it over with and get to raiding. Running around during raids is just stupid. Stay behind whoever is leading (even if you know the way) and just have a seat during setup. Example... Running around you fall in a pit so the entire raid has to stop to do your cr, possibly (er probably) more deaths, and then the entire event turns into your cr and you feel like an idiot and you've wasted peoples time. The example was taken from a young Iksar I think his name was Jsis :P 6) Have your settings switched before the raid. This includes /serverfilter on, /particleeffects off, /showspelleffects off. Buffing classes please have /TGB on. Also make your /assist keys. We will announce main assist and secondary before we start. Don't think "I know who to target" if we get adds and you or your pet is not on the Mob that the main tank is on and you break the Enchanter mez YOU could cause people to die (probably yourself) and there we are on cr instead of getting exp/loot/on our way. 7) During raids LISTEN. We do not want to have to repeat things over and over. 8) Make sure you are familiar with the Raid Loot Rules posted here on the site. 9) If during a raid/event the severs go down to the Chatroom here on the website. Then we can deal with whatever situation we are facing. If for some reason the chatroom isn't working. The Raid leader will post instructions on the message board. People not following or knowing the guild raid rules will not be allowed on raids and more than likely disbanded from the guild. |
